Working with people who have experienced trauma, including those affected by climate change impacts, requires an intentional approach to nurture resilience and recovery.
This session covered:
Introducing a necessary understanding of the human stress response in order to incorporate trauma-informed practices.
Identifying the key competencies for all stakeholders involved in community resilience and business continuity.
Participants gained knowledge of the importance for all responders to the impacts of extreme weather events to interact with survivors in a manner that is not “re-traumatizing”.
