Continuing Education
Various types of continuing education will be available for attendees at the Local Solutions 2018: Eastern Region Climate Preparedness Conference.
Attendance
Each type of continuing education will have its own requirements for eligibility and procedures for documenting attendance and evaluation. Participants must sign in and out of conference sessions or have forms stamped to document their participation and complete appropriate evaluations. Failure to register, document attendance or completing evaluations in a timely manner may make one ineligible for continuing education. When you register for continuing education, you will be notified of the specific requirements.
The Association of Certified Floodplain Managers
Register for Continuing Education credit
The Local Solutions 2018: Eastern Region Climate Preparedness Conference has been approved by the Association of Certified Floodplain Managers to offer 12 CEC’s for Certified Floodplain Managers (CFM) who attend all three days of the conference. More information and registration for continuing education will be available soon. Individual who would like to receive CEC’s from the Association of Certified Floodplain Managers must attend the entire conference to receive credit. Participants must attend the entire 3 days of the conference to be eligible for continuing education. Partial credit is not available.
American Public Works Association
Register for Continuing Education Units
The Local Solutions 2018: Eastern Region Climate Change Conference is co-sponsored by Antioch University New England and the New England Chapter of the American Public Works Association. A maximum of 1.55 CEU are available to individuals who attend the entire conference.
Qualified conference participants must use the conference Master Document to document which sessions they attend. Complete the APWA evaluation of the session and submit it at the end of the session. At the end of the session, please have your Master Document stamped to indicate that you attended. Then attendees will need to complete he request form and submit it along with the processing fee to APWA Headquarters (the request form contains the fee amount, mailing, faxing and emailing instructions).
American Planning Association
Register for Continuing Education credit
Antioch University New England is authorized to offer 32 CMs for Certified Planners (AICP) attending the Local Solutions 2018. More information and registration for continuing education will be available soon.
Evaluations
Evaluations will be widely available for participants to give feedback. Assessment results and will be used to improve future events and conferences including effectiveness of presentations, suggestions for speakers, assessment of location and learning needs.
Resolution of Disputes
Individuals who have a dispute regarding the conference or continuing education, please contact Shelley Viles, Director of Centers, Institutes and Projects at Antioch University New England, 40 Avon St. Keene, NH 03431. Please outline your dispute in writing. You can expect a review of the dispute and a reply to the inquiry within 45 days of Antioch receiving your written request.
Registration Refunds & Transfers
All requests for refunds MUST be submitted in writing to the Center for Climate Preparedness and Community Resilience, Antioch University New England and RECEIVED no later than 11:59 PM EST by the dates listed below. Telephone requests WILL NOT be honored. Written requests for refunds will be processed as follows:
- Received by Feb 1, 2018 – Full refund, less a $50 per person administrative fee
- Received by March 29, 2018– 50% refund, less a $50 per person administrative fee
- Received on or after March 30, 2018 – No Refunds

You can transfer your registration to another individual if we receive this request by March 30, 2018. This does not involve any refund. You must provide the name, position, organization and email of the alternate that will attend in your place. SUBSTITUTIONS CAN BE REQUESTED VIA EMAIL TO:
Refunds will be issued approximately 4-6 weeks after the conclusion of the conference.
